Kate Upton, The Girl With A Face "Anyone" Can Buy, Is Model of the Year

Kate Upton has been named model of the year and will pick up the prize at the 10th annual Style Awards that kicks off New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (September 4, 2013), according to the Los Angeles Times.

The 21-year-old rose to fame as the buxom bombshell with the icy blue eyes, though has been turning heads in the high-fashion world too, gracing the cover of American Vogue as well as Elle and now Vanity Fair's 100th anniversary issue.

The decision to have her on the cover of the fashion bible made headlines worldwide and left Victoria's Secret red-faced. The company's stylist Sophie Neophitou had previously spoken out about the American model, saying she was "too obvious" a choice to appear in the annual catwalk event.

"We would never use [Upton]. She's like a Page 3 girl," she told the New York Times. "She's like a footballer's wife, with the too-blonde hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy." However, the tide soon turned and Upton was furious when Victoria's Secret used images of her in one of its catalogues.

Aversion to Upton's dinstinct style was commonplace during her rise up the fashion ladder. During an interview with Vanity Fair, the model recalled, "I'm not going to name names, but one agency told me, 'You're too American, and everybody knows American women are lazy. I was so offended! I've never been so offended! I was like, 'You know that you're in America, right?' And it wasn't 'American models' - it was 'American women are lazy,' period! I feel like a lot of women would disagree with that. A lot!"

Actress Alison Pill is still cringing about her accidental topless tweet and she's convinced everyone she meets has seen the photo of her boobs.

Amanda Bynes is picking up right where she left off. On Twitter, that is.

Yesterday, the hospitalized 27-year-old actress tweeted, "I love Drake."

It was her first Tweet since July 19, when she said "Drake is gorgeous."

The singular Tweet is still live and was sent from her official account.

The brief, unexpected return to Twitter came one day after her doctors at UCLA Medical Center asked for and were granted an extended long-term hold.

Amanda Bynes was hospitalized under an involuntary 5150 psychiatric hold back on July 22, and has been receiving mental health treatment ever since.

Before that, Tweeting about Drake had been one of her favorite pastimes.

The former child star made headlines March 21 when she wrote, "I want Drake to murder my vagina," and talked about him countless other times.

Drake never responded to the Tweets, though he is aware of them.

"I don't even know who is doing that or what that's about," the rapper told the August issue of XXL. "If that is her, I guess it's a little weird and disturbing."

"It's obviously a behavioral pattern that is way bigger than me."

Few would argue with that. Doctors say Bynes may need long-term hospitalization to treat her severe mental illness, though it's unclear how long.

Some reports have suggested up to a year at UCLA or a related facility, while others say she could move in with her mom in a month or two of she improves.

Mumbai shocker: Five television and film actresses arrested in a call-girl racket, operated from IAS officer's flat

Mumbai: Mumbai police officers have arrested 5 high profile call girls from an IAS officer's apartment in the posh locality of Lokhandwala. During the interrogation, the police officers discovered that all the five girls are known actresses; some of them have played character roles in Saas Bahu daily soaps. Others have also acted in Bhojpuri and C grade films. One of the girls is a renowned television actress whose identity has been kept under wraps as the preliminary investigations are on. Ironically, the flat B 1402 of Meera Towers where the sex racket has been busted belongs to an IAS officer. This flat was rented to these high profile girls and their pimp Imtiaz Khan who also worked as a model coordinator. The entire Meera tower at Oshiwara area was formed as a society by the IAS and IPS officials and the pimp assuming it as a safe zone began discreetly using it as a den for supplying high class call girls.
