I don't have right bikini body: Parineeti Chopra

Mumbai: Bollywood actresses are readily flaunting a bikini on the big screen, but curvaceous actress Parineeti Chopra says she is overweight to flaunt the two-piece garment.

Asked if she will be okay wearing a bikini for a film, she said: "If I have a hot body, then why not? But right now I don't have the right body. I am still overweight, so there's no way I can wear a bikini."

As such, the vivacious actress doesn't have any limitations or restrictions as an artist.

"I don't want to restrict myself. I don't know how long will I act, or may be the audience will get bored of me and then I will not be acting... so (as long as I am in showbiz), I don't want to restrict myself," she said.

Parineeti admits that most actresses justify bold scenes by saying "it's the demand of the script". But she says it is actually so.

"In 'Shuddh Desi Romance', Sushant (Singh Rajput) has to be physically close with (characters played by) Vaani Kapoor and me for the conflict to happen. If a director says that let's put some kissing scenes for publicity, I will never do that. It's ridiculus," she added.

Busy with the promotions of "Shuddh Desi Romance, which releases Sep 6, Parineeti gaurantees that the movie is "entertaining".

The film is directed by Maneesh Sharma.

Eating kiwi improves digestion

Los Angeles: Eating kiwi fruit can help in better digestion, new research says.

According to research, the green kiwi fruit has enzyme actinidin, which is not present in any other fruit. This enzyme can deliver enhanced gastric digestion, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“Although somewhat already recognised as a natural digestive aid, this research focused on the role of kiwi fruit in the breaking down of food protein that can be particularly hard to digest in comparison to other foods,” Nele Moorthamers, European marketing manager of kiwifruit exporter Zespri, which conducted the research, said in a statement.

“Kiwi fruit is rich in actinidin which breaks down protein quicker and more effectively than digestive enzymes can do alone, making kiwi fruit a perfect choice to overcome digestive issues,” added Moorthamers.

The study promotes the use of kiwi fruit as a part of an individual’s daily diet.

Follow easy beauty ritual for flights

London: If you plan to catch a flight anytime soon, make sure to take care of your skin. Pack your eye gel and wear less makeup.

The cabin crew of Emirates airline spill out beauty secrets they stick to while flying, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Skincare tips: Apply an eye gel to keep your eyes refreshed during a long flight. It can be used over makeup. It also helps to clean makeup. While flying, apply a vitamin C mask. It boosts the skin cells and gives a healthy glow. Hydration sprays are good to maintain moisture balance in the skin.

Makeup tips: Ideally, makeup is a big no! But if you can’t do without it, keep it light. Use a light concealer or tinted moisturiser, a bit of mascara, blusher and lip gloss or lipstick. Keep your lips moist by wearing a lip balm throughout the flight. Body lotions can be applied at intervals if travel duration is long.

Before landing, use a cleanser, moisturiser and an eye gel. This will make you appear vibrant. Then you may apply makeup. For a fresh look, use a natural foundation and soft blusher (light pink or peach), mascara and a natural lip gloss.

Victoria Beckham to design outfits for 'Fifty Shades...'?

London: Victoria Beckham will reportedly design the outfits for lead characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Sam Taylor-Wood's forthcoming film "Fifty Shades of Grey", based on E.L. James trilogy.

"'Fifty Shades...' is going to be more than a movie. We are hoping for spin-offs in fashion and music. Victoria is frontrunner," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

The producers are also reportedly considering designers Dolce and Gabbana, Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs for the film.

Victoria, who is married to retired soccer star David Beckham, is a fan of the erotic novel and even got a copy of it for her mother Jackie Adams.

"I'm halfway through the second one. I even bought my mother the book. But every time she tries to engage in conversation about it, I kind of dodge the subject. I don't really want to talk to my mother about it," Victoria had said.

Fake Salman Khurshid account tweets on Syria cause flutter

New Delhi: Amid reports of an impending Western military strike on Syria over the alleged use of chemical weapons, a fake Twitter account of External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid caused a flutter Wednesday, saying India was in touch with Britain and US over the crisis.

The government complained to the San Francisco-headquartered company and the fake account was blocked within hours.

The imposter Twitter handle 'Salman Khurshid @IndiaMEA' complete with a picture of the external affairs minister, had the posts: "US SECRETARY OF STATE INFORMS OUR GOVERNMENT THAT AN ATTACK ON SYRIA WILL STARTS WITHING 48 HOURS".

Another one went:" Phone talks with British FM W.Hague. Intervention against Syria to start tonight. India expressed concerns."

Its first post went" "This is my official account on Twitter. Welcome! S. Khurshid, Minister of Ext. Relations, India." It also claimed the minister has spoken to the Russian foreign minister on the Syrian crisis.

Soon the Twitter account of India's external affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin was flooded with queries asking if the news was true.

@AkbarMEA, the Twitter handle of the official spokesperson, replied to all queries saying: "The handle @IndiaMEA is a fake one masquerading as Minister Khurshid's account. He does not have a Twitter handle." And "@IndiaMEA is a fake account and has been reported to @Twitter."

Within a few hours, the imposter handle was blocked with the message "Sorry! That page does not exist!"

The fake posting caused All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, with Twitter account @asadowaisi, to ask @Akbar MEA: "sir I am sure the GOI is keeping an eye on Syrian crisis as more than 5 million Indians work in that region."

A discerning Twitter account posted: "Seems improbable that India's foreign minister wd spill military secrets divulged in a private phone call on Twitter".

Another account, going as Ranchordas @ControversyChat , posted sarcastically: "@IndiaMEA So now you have started giving breaking news to the world :)"

Also, 81 percent had seen more successful weight loss results through using dieting applications than they did before using them, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“I think it is an absolutely fantastic sign that so many people are using their mobile phones to help aid them with weight loss, and seeing effective results from it. Dos and don'ts of glitter!!

New Delhi: Glitter can instantly make dull skin and hair sparkle. But women are often spotted looking like a Christmas tree at weddings and parties as they tend to go overboard with glitter. Know the right way to make body parts like eyes, collar bones, shoulders and leg shine.

Ishika Taneja, international makeup expert and executive director of ALPS Beauty Clinic, recommends using glitter in a very restricted manner on the face.

“The safest way is to use it on the eyes. Apply a base colour on the lids, preferably a strong pigment. Then take the glitter in the same colour (or the same colour family) and apply on the outer corners of the eyes or as a liner for instant glamour. To balance the look, keep rest of the face subtle,” Taneja told IANS.

For the body, she suggests to apply a small amount of glitter on clean and dry skin. Then gently spread it with a round fluffy makeup brush that ensures even application.

“Another way to do it is to mix a small amount of glitter with a body lotion and apply all over the exposed parts of your legs, shoulders, upper arms, decollete, collarbones and cleavage. This ensures an overall subtle shimmer on body. For a chiselled look, mix a small amount of glitter with bronzer and contour your body parts,” she said.

For application on skin, it needs to be dry. But, make sure your hair are not dry and frizzy if you wish to use the product.

“Use spray ons for best result. Take a small section of hair and apply the glitter through the entire length to create streaks of colour. You can do it at two or three different sections of your hair. The glitter should be the final step after you have styled your hair,” said Taneja.

It might look all easy to use the product, but she advises to use a body scrub to flake off dry and rough skin.

“Follow it up with a generous dose of moisturizer. Let the moisturizer sink in completely before applying glitter,” she said.

Taneja advises not to apply glitter on rashes or cuts as it will irritate skin further.

For cheeks, she suggests highlighter instead of glitter.

Once the party is over, make sure to take shower and use a baby oil to remove all the glitter before you call it a night.

Use natural exfoliators to treat sun damage

Los Angeles: As the summer draws to a close, it's time to think about sun-damaged skin. Expert says go for natural exfoliators like jojoba beads and ground apricot kernel.

Linda Horan, Borealis Natural Skincare’s in-house expert, feels that if you have sun damage on the face and neck area, then wear at least a broad spectrum SPF 25 daily apart from exfoliating gently, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

- Some people also opt for “chemical peels” to remove the layer of skin cells including top layer of brown spots. Glycolic acid is an active ingredient that removes several layers of dead cells.

- A natural approach to treat sun damage on skin would be to use natural exfoliators such as jojoba beads and ground apricot kernel.

- Face oils also helps in a big way so omega 3, 6 and 9 oils, lots of fruit, vegetables, lean protein help to restore the lustre to the skin.

- Supplements may help depending on age and overall health and eating habits.

Girl bashes the guy for proposing her!

Girl bashes the guy for proposing her! (watch video) A guy likes a girl, he proposes and they live happily ever after.... err!

Hell! It's 2013 and happily ever after proposals are pages form Mills and Boons... people would agree ...or not!

Here's a story of a cute proposal gone wrong with guy in the end getting beaten up by the love of his life (the one he thought to be).

The incident happened in a Dubai Mall. The plan was set, the guy was ready to take the step forward but what seems to be the turning point here was the unusual reply from girl through toy guitar which came thrashing down at boy's head... ouch!

The couple was usually strolling down the mall in Dubai. During an on-going PR event the guy stopped by and had a word with the event manager, soon the guy openly proposed the girl in front of the entire crowd present.

The crowd went berserk with compliments and clapping but soon came in the shock!

The girl who was equally shocked smiled at first and impromptu jumped, pulled the toy guitar from a nearby stand and slammed it on her boyfriends head!

The crowd was shocked to see such a result of an open proposal.

No points for guessing.... the girl went straight out of the mall and the guy was left to be attended by floor manager for first aid.

So next time you plan a surprise proposal... there'll be no harm in carrying a first aid box instead of a.... err Ring!

Los Angeles: Actress Anna Friel says she is a fan of reflexology and she has tried acupuncture on the face. The 37-year-old also pampers herself with regular facials, which cools the skin and improves blood supply.

"I'm a massive fan of reflexology and I've tried acupuncture on the face which boosts collagen. Also Cryoderm facials - I like to try different things to mix it up a bit," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Friel as saying.

A 75-minute Cryoderm session involves microdermabrasion, which removes dead skin, and includes a massage to reduce puffiness.

The actress also likes to splash ice-cold water on her face on a daily basis to tighten up her pores and achieve a radiant complexion.

"Sink full of ice. As horrible as it is when you first get out of bed, splash cold water on your face every morning and keep splashing for a minute. All the old movie stars used to do it," she said.

Get rid of lice with home remedies

New Delhi: Monsoon woes don’t end with dandruff. The sweaty and sticky scalp brings lice with it. Worry not, as there are solutions in the form of onion and garlic juice. Hair transplant surgeon Sakshee Sareen says that due to accumulation of sweat in the scalp, chances of hair lice or fungal infection increases during the monsoon season. “And since the scalp remains wet for a longer duration, the hair lice multiplies very rapidly,” Sareen told IANS. Lice are found mostly in long hair, and she advises not to tie up damp hair. “Lice are found majorly in long hair because they can easily lodge and multiply in comparison to shorter hair. If long hair is tied up for long, the chances of lice increases because of the dampness and sweat,” she said. But women need not fear as one can take steps to prevent lice from attacking the scalp. “Those with long hair specially should wash their hair regularly and after washing should completely dry their hair before tying it up. Once or twice in a week, check for lice and brush hair with soft bristle comb,” said Sareen. Since lice spread fast, even if a family member or friend has the problem you should take care. She advises not to share personal belongings like comb, hair accessories, pillow and other products that touch the hair. Sareen suggests few home remedies too. Garlic, neem and onion can be of great help. “Apply garlic paste or juice all over your hair and scalp, keep it for some 30-40 minutes, then wash it. One can try onion juice and white vinegar mixture - apply it on your scalp and keep it for at least an hour. Neem oil is also very effective to remove hair lice and it should be kept for one-and-a-half to two hours,” she said. If you think natural remedies consume time, use medicated lotions or sprays. “There is anti-lice shampoo also, but it will only kill the lice not the eggs. So it’s better to opt for natural solutions,” she said.

For women, no outings without make-up

London: Even if it is getting really late for work, majority of women don't feel right about stepping out of their house without their make-up on.

The phenomenon has been revealed in a study, which says that three-quarters of women in Britain admit that they wouldn’t go to work without make-up on and a fifth of these women feared ‘getting in trouble’ at work if they failed to wear makeup, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The study was conducted over 1,812 women aged 18 and over from across Britain all of whom were in employment at the time of the poll.

Parents prefer train travel to understand kids better

Los Angeles: Parents prefer to travel by train when with the kids because the journey allows them to have more stimulating conversations with their children, than if they were travelling by car, says a research. CrossCountry, a train operating company in Britain, have released the findings of a new research that says that 43 percent parents prefer train travel when accompanied by their children, reports femalefirst.co.uk. Not only do most parents agree that travelling by train with the children makes life easier, it seems it provides other benefits too. Forty percent parents say their children get a better understanding of geography by travelling by train and 34 percent of the parents, who took part in the survey, believe their children benefit from spending more quality time with their family. The other positives of travelling by train is the luxury of gazing out of the window as 57 percent say their children enjoy the scenery and talking about the sights they pass. Parents said they also liked to travel by train as 51 percent agreed it was often quicker than driving. CrossCountry have teamed up with Mumsnet, one of the largest website for parents in Britain, to launch the top tips for parents when travelling with children on trains.
